When to Refer Patients to an
Infertility Specialist
Like most medical care, time is of the essence when it comes to treating infertility. If your patient is struggling to conceive, it might be time to consider sending them to a fertility specialist. At Nevada Fertility Center, we want to see your patient if they meet any of the following criteria:
AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) levels less than 1.0
FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) levels of 8.0 or above
Patient age 35 or older who has been unable to conceive
Patients who have had a tubal ligation or tubal obstruction
Failure to ovulate after 3 or more medicated cycles
History of PCOS, endometriosis, or certain genetic diseases
Concerns with Male Factor Infertility
If your patient meets any of the above criteria, it is helpful for us to have their recent medical records, results of any testing you have completed in the last 12 months, or any other information that would help us in determining the best treatment plan for them.

Testing for Female Patients
For new female patients, we order a variety of blood tests and evaluations to accurately determine what might be the cause of their inability to get pregnant. These tests and evaluations include a full CBC panel, TSH, AMH, FSH, Hepatitis Panel, and more. Once you have referred a patient to us, we will review any testing you have completed and will contact your patient directly if additional testing is required.

Testing for Male Patients
Male Factor Infertility accounts for about one-third of all couples who are unable to get pregnant. Because of this, we encourage testing of both the female and male patients prior to starting treatment. Tests for male patients include a blood test and a semen analysis. The semen analysis provides information such as volume, concentration, and motility of sperm.
